Tonight I went to a co-parenting class which is mandatory in Maryland. It was three hours, from 5:30 to 8:30PM, and was a better experience than I expected.
The first half was conducted by two speakers who are licensed social workers. They talked a lot about the program, as well as what divorce is about, and the adult response to the experience.
The second half was about children of divorced parents. First we watched a 15 minute movie, and then we split into groups to answer two questions:
How are children affected by divorce?
What can divorced parents do to support their children during the transition?
